TRANS-FAIRE attended the Venice Architecture Biennale. This time, it is organized around the theme “Fundamentals”, chosen by Rem Koolhaas, general curator of the 14th edition.

How can we reinterpret the founding principles of architecture through modernity… contradictions, utopian impulses? Questioning the reuse of a neglected, forgotten or overlooked built heritage, imagining the city of tomorrow at the gateway to the desert, revisiting the founding elements – doors, facades, roofs, staircases – and their necessary evolution over time – combining technical prowess and comfort of use… this is the itinerary proposed to visitors.
In the French pavilion, modernity is expressed through Jacques Tati’s film “Mon oncle” (1957), and the model of the ultra-modern house, an irony of the new individual comfort.
