The site uses prefabrication to reduce nuisance. The proximity of the boarding school construction site to the lycée’s teaching areas meant that acoustic pollution had to be kept under control. The load-bearing structure is made of precast concrete, while the non-load-bearing facades are timber-framed. A technique without thermal bridges was chosen: Ossabois.

There’s more to project performance than that:

  • Wood volume of 29 m3/m²; facades, exterior and interior joinery, staff accommodation structure…
  • BEPOS energy performance; 110% of RT2012 Cep is covered by photovoltaic electricity production.
  • Double-flow ventilation throughout the boarding school, including bedrooms, enabling heat recovery in winter and free-cooling in warmer periods.
  • Heat recovery from shower grey water.
  • Rainwater infiltration.
  • Green roofs to support biodiversity.
