The Fort d’Issy-les Moulineaux (92) swimming pool, Aquazena, opened its doors on July 18, 2015. Designed by Mikou Studio architects, the curvaceous project blends into the Quartier du Fort and respects the rules of Feng-Shui.
The environmental design of the facility was carried out by TRANS-FAIRE (BET HQE project management), to optimize interior comfort (lighting, acoustics, etc.), reduce energy and water consumption, limit health risks (drastic reduction in chlorine use)…
The project’s environmental features include
- Optimization of the envelope glazing ratio using daylighting simulation (for visual comfort and daylight autonomy) and dynamic thermal simulation (to maximize solar gain and thermal comfort).
- Renewable energy – the water in the pools is heated by the Fort’s heating network, powered by geothermal energy (on Albien).
- Heat recovery on double-flow ventilation.
- Natural ventilation optimized by aeraulic calculation.
- Stainless-steel (exposed) pools offer greater durability for the project (reduced leakage), reduced maintenance requirements (no annual joint repairs) and improved pool hygiene.
- Ozone water treatment drastically reduces the use of chlorine, improving swimmer comfort and air quality (by reducing chloramines).
